[Yeti DNS Discuss] ipv6 root name service discussed (gih blog)

The first part is good. I just want to add a test on DNSKEY QUERY which produces a response more than 1600 octets. That big response triggers IP fragment on every Yeti root. I'm thinking of recommanding some new approachs like DNS fragments (dns level frag)or DNS over HTTP for extreme large repsonse.

Paul,

Yes I saw this last week.

We haven't looked at this, but at BII Labs we replicated Geoff's "part 1" research and also applied it to Yeti. We have a draft of this here:

https://github.com/shane-kerr/Scoring-Yeti-Root-Server/blob/master/Scoring-the-Yeti-DNS-Root-Server-System.md

Davey hasn't made a final review as he has been busy with the IGF meeting; we'll publish it on our BII blog and distribute it more widely when he is able to do that. We're happy for any feedback from people on this list before we do that of course! :-D

Cheers,
